Gaslight Square was a thriving entertainment district in St. Louis during the 1950's and 1960's. It could easily be compared to the Delmar Loop district today. Now most of the restaurants and theaters are gone from the area, and have been replaced by condominiums. However, a small memorial exists on this corner to remind people of the thriving district of the 50's.
