Cake 63- The Sheldon

Found September 27, 2014

The Sheldon opened its doors in 1912 as home to the Ethical Society in St. Louis.  Various speakers and musicians loved using the stage.  After the Ethical Society relocated in 1964, musicians continued to use the concert hall and community center.  From 1973-1984, The Sheldon was home to two gospel churches. In 1988, the non-profit Sheldon Arts Foundation began, and in 1996, major renovations began to make the building more accessible.  The Sheldon now hosts over 350 events in a year in its Concert Hall and Art Gallery.
