Ok, so since we did decide to take the cavern tour, this was our most expensive cake, and also the furthest cake from the seminary campus that we had discovered at this point. But the cavern tour was definitely worth it! That being said, you can see this cake without spending any money except for the gas to get out to it.
Meramec Caverns is said to be the hideout of Jesse James and his brother. It is said to be the largest commercial cave in all of Missouri and was a hot spot along Route 66 back in it's heyday. (Another fantastic reason to visit this lovely tourist attraction. They offer guided tours that last roughly an hour and a half as you travel just over a mile around the inside of the cave.
