Cake 41- Ruth Porter Park

Found September 13, 2014

It was hard to find a parking spot near this one since there was roadwork being done on the street in front of it.

This park is named after Ruth Porter, the founder and first executive secretary of the Greater St. Louis Committee for Freedom of Residence.  Ruth Porter worked to break down housing restrictions and integrate housing in St. Louis.

The park is a narrow 8.12 acre strip that runs through the West End Neighborhood.  The park has seen a major transformation with the help of Great Rivers Greenway and the creation of a walking/biking trail.
