Heritage House began as an idea to provide affordable housing for retired teachers in 1962. The program had no money, but a dream to create housing for teachers in a time when teachers were not given a retirement fund. The building opened for rent in 1968 and was limited to only retired teachers. Since then, it is now open to all who qualify for rent.
