The area that is now Castlewood Park used to be a popular party hangout for St. Louisans; filled with dance clubs in the early 1900's. Now the clubs are gone, but the park remains along the Meramec River. The park is filled with hiking and biking trails, and is known as one of the best mountain biking locations in the St. Louis area.
